Talking Ben finds a protegè to pass all of his knowledge on to. But when he brings his new student to the garage, not everyone is impressed. Has Ben made the right choice, or will his decision threaten to put an end to Tom and Ben Enterprises?
Plot[]
Ben builds his new invention, the e-Levator boots, boots which allow the user to levitate. However, after sustaining a head injury and suffering temporary memory loss, Ben realizes his need for a protégé to pass his knowledge on to. Hank offers to be his protege, but Ben decides that his protégé should be someone younger. He wants Ginger to be his protégé, but Ginger refuses, saying that he doesn't like science.
Ben goes to Ginger's school and then employs Darren as his new protégé, to Ginger's disapproval. After the e-Levator boots are finished, Ginger becomes frustrated that the friends seem to prefer Darren over him, so he destroys the boots in anger. Ben snatches the other boot out of Ginger's hand and angrily scolds him saying that maybe he and the others should chose Darren over him. Ginger then exits the garage in tears.
Darren has invited the friends to a robot fight event but stayed behind in order to repair the boots. After the event, however, Ben finds the boots had been stolen. He formally cuts his ties with Ginger, accusing him of stealing the boots.
However, Ben finds the e-Levator boots displayed on the television by the CEO, revealing that Darren was the CEO's nephew and that he had stolen the boots. Ben controls the boots using his tablet to cause the CEO to fly uncontrollably, hitting Darren in the process.
Despite having taken revenge on the CEO, Ben decides that he must reconcile with Ginger for what he had done.

- This marks the first appearance of the school.
- This episode was originally called "Darren the Protege" and later "Ben's Protege."
- Ben and Darren say the Latin quote, ingenium mala saepe movent, (difficulty wakes up the genius) which is a quote from Roman poet Ovid.
