Talking Pierre the Parrot is an interaction-based game app developed by Outfit7 and released for iOS and Android. The app was released on the 4th of August, 2011, and is one of the first apps in the Talking Tom & Friends franchise and Talking Friends series.

The app features its titular character: Pierre, and is set in the kitchen of Tom's house. The user can make Pierre repeat what is said amongst other features.

Features[]

  • The game features a blender, which can be turned on and off by tapping Pierre. This prevents Pierre from hearing you.
  • There is also a button that makes Pierre play the guitar, which plays a 1973 song called Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple. Later, in version 3.0 for iOS, only the song Smoke on the Water had a remix which was also reused for the desktop version of Talking Tom Cat 2.
  • If you touch Pierre's head, he will make a strange face and make a trumpet sound.
  • If you rub Pierre, hearts will appear, and he will hum short melodies.
  • If you touch his legs, Pierre will lift his leg and then say "Bang bang" or "Pow pow" and blow into his left hand.
  • If you touch Pierre's stomach, Tom claps him with cymbals. You can hold if you want Tom to still clap Pierre with the cymbals.
  • Much like Talking Tom Cat, Pierre can repeat sentences spoken in the microphone, though he can easily confuse phrases, causing Tom to pop up and correct him. (Which is removed in 2021.) The correcting feature is for iOS and old versions on Android.
  • He can throw dishes out of the sink. Most dishes cost money.
  • He can turn on the water faucet, which is a paid feature. If he turns it off, he will say "Woohoo!". In some devices, he does not say "Woohoo!".
  • You can throw tomatoes at Pierre; if you want to hit him with one, it is a paid feature, so you have to buy it. After you miss Pierre, he will turn around and show his tail saying "Nya nya nya nya nya!".
  • Record videos to share with your friends and family.
  • When the player is not interacting with Pierre, he bites his toenails.

Trivia[]

  • Although Pierre did not appear in Talking Tom and Friends, or in recent apps of the Talking Tom & Friends franchise, this app is still available to download.
  • In the old versions of the app, Pierre used to laugh when he repeated after the player, but it was later removed for unknown reasons.
  • Pierre is the last and only defunct character to have their app still up.
  • Initially, this app cost $0.99 on Google Play Store.
  • In some devices, you may see a 1 second gift button, but the reason is unknown.
  • There are a few characters who have had cameos in commercials.
  • In the iOS version 1.0, the app had no buttons and a different character which was a realistic blue-and-yellow macaw, but this was removed on December 14, 2011.
    • Instead of being set in a kitchen like the Android version, this version is set in a blurry forest. The app also uses a different voice and doesn't mix in previous voices.
  • This app now has notifications, For example: "Who's your favorite parrot? :-)" or "Tomato Fight?".
  • The app is sometimes referred to as "Talking Pierre - Smoke on the Water".
  • The guitar riff is a reference to the music called "Smoke on the Water"
  • As for 2024, loading screens have been added.
  • You cannot play the oldest version from 2012 on Android 11+ due to scoped storage.
