Ginger also known as Talking Ginger, is one of the main characters of the numerous series in the Talking Tom & Friends franchise.

He is a young, rebellious prankster who is Tom's nephew and is the son of the second richest people in town.[22]

Appearance

Ginger generally appears as a 7 year old[2][3][4] (5 in Talking Friends[5][6]) ginger[12] cat, Felis fabulatus, who has short whiskers, large blue eyes, a thin stripy tail, a small pink nose, large orange ears with pink canals and bright orange/yellow eyebrows. He has four fingers on each hand and three toes on each foot, each finger and toe having a single claw on it. Being the youngest of the the gang, Ginger is also the shortest in stature, only reaching shoulder-height on most of the members. While unconfirmed, his fur pattern resembles an orange tabby, meaning he may be a tabby cat like his uncle. Ginger also sometimes sports clothes, depending on the media.

Talking Tom and Friends

Like most non-human characters in the series, Ginger did not wear clothes in the first three seasons. Starting with Season 4, he wears a purple t-shirt, denim overalls and red sneakers.

Like all main characters in the show, Ginger gains a third outfit in "Waitress Angela", which is used interchangeably with his Season 4 outfit. In this outfit, Ginger sports a red polo with yellow stripes, similar to the outfit in Talking Tom Gold Run

Sorry, not sorry!
— Ginger's catchphrase

As he is the youngest of the friends at seven years of age, he is highly immature, as shown by his mindset when he loses in games and recklessly endangers himself and others.

This game cheats!

He has an extreme obsession with candy and will do whatever it takes to get some, he even once jump to a portal to a parallel universe for some candy from his alternative self there. He also despises romance as he finds it disgusting when although is occasionally mildly interested in it - And got concerned once when he realizes that Hank hasn't been in a romantic relationship yet.

Relationships

Hank:

Hank is Ginger's best friend along with Gina and Pierre, and such as the other two, Hank also tries to be a role-model for Ginger. Hank and Ginger are usually seen together pulling pranks and playing games together, such as cardboard roleplaying, when they are together. However, Hank is always trying to teach Ginger valuable lessons, which Ginger has a lack of tolerance for. This can sometimes cause Ginger to act out on purpose just to annoy Hank.

Gina

Such as Hank, it is said that Gina is a role-model for Ginger. It is said in Talking Angela and Tom Loves Angela that the two are best-friends and hardly go anywhere without each other. The two seem to have fun together differently to how Ginger plays with Hank and Pierre, as Gina is a well-mannered person.

Pierre:

According to Talking Angela, Pierre is Ginger's third best friend and also a role model for him. Such as Hank, Angela states that Ginger and Pierre have fun together by pulling pranks, and supposedly, Pierre was the one who taught him to pull pranks in the first place.

Angela even goes as far to say that Ginger was never even naughty until him and Pierre started hanging out.

Tom:

You already know Talking Tom is my uncle, right? He is the best! I love him a lot! When he's not around I hug my Tom plush toy!
— Ginger"talking-ginger.com"

Tom is Ginger's neighbor, uncle, and a close friend of him. Like most of the gang, Tom has little tolerance of Ginger's pranks, jokes and insane theories.

The two have teamed up on occasion, such as cheating the election, and when Ginger unintentionally led Tom into believing Ben and Angela are brain suckers.

Ben:

Unlike most of the gang, they have little interaction, although Angela claims in Talking Angela, that Pierre and Ginger are always stealing Ben's inventions and chemistry.

This is taken further in the show, where Ginger is seen stealing a bunch of Ben's inventions, such as his jetpack. Other than that, they get along pretty well, although Ginger doesn't like his romantic relationship with Xenon, and gets extremely mad when Ben chooses Darren over him.

Angela:

Angela and Ginger are friends, although she seems like his favorite to pull pranks on.

Her temper usually sets off whenever Ginger pranks her, such as in Think Hank.

There's nothing bad to say about this little ball of fur, even though it's impossible to count the amount of times we've caught him up to no good! When needed on the set, all we had to do was look for Pierre or for Angela and he was there.

My favorite little guy! My nephew Ginger is the cutest! He LOVES trouble and gets himself in all sorts of incidents. I never really get mad at him though. He loves to play outside and is so curious about the world. He's constantly asking questions and I try to answer them, but after a while I just send him to Ben. Ginger has a wild imagination, you should see his drawings, and hear his stories, they're out of this world!

Notes

  1. While not directly stated in Talking Angela, the given excuse for the existence of anthropomorphic cats is supposedly that they are all Felis fabulatus, which would suggest that Ginger would have to be one.
