After Tom invents the Hat Locator app, Dagbar calls, asking for the rights to the app. When Tom politely refuses, he sends his minions to attack Tom.
In the end, it was revealed that Tom was wearing a virtual reality headset made by Ben; Dagbar was merely a computer-generated simulation.
